It's September and already we walk beneath trees neither fully green nor gold. We're caught between thumb and forefinger of things ripening and things falling. A time where we prepare to gather what we can to sweep through scarcer months, a time when we let our toes linger a little too long in water going cold under a setting sun.

Issue 15 fits squarely into this between space. It is both a small pond of immense depth and a great muddy field full of layer upon layer of footprints, heady flowers, field mice, and yes, flies. It's a walk that takes longer than planned because you can’t stop pausing to look, and smell, and touch. We hope you'll gather a few seeds along the way and plant something new in the garden that has been entrusted to you, nearer to home. What a joy sharing the art in these pages. Magic and quiet gifts, each. Come in, light a candle, there’s room at the table and strangers to meet!
